About Us
A Mindful World is an online dharma community and teaching platform, dedicated to empowering people to apply the ancient wisdom of mindfulness and contemplative traditions to all aspects of modern life. We accomplish this mission through online courses, live events, and a supportive community. We are a small, mission-driven team that is growing, and we are looking for a thoughtful, capable person to help keep the experience smooth, warm, and well run for our students and community members.
The Role
As Community Operations Manager, you will be the friendly, reliable point of contact for our community and the person who keeps day-to-day operations running behind the scenes. You will work directly with the Founder/COO and have real room to shape how we serve our members as we grow. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes solving problems, noticing what needs to be done, and following through without being asked.
Key Responsibilities
Community Support
Respond to community messages, emails, and social media messages with warmth, clarity, and timeliness
Escalate questions or issues that need founder or teacher input, with the context needed to resolve them quickly
Help foster a welcoming, respectful community culture through light moderation
Mighty Networks Community Management
Update and maintain the Mighty Networks community space, including spaces, events, posts, and member resources
Keep content organized, current, and easy for members to navigate
Course Onboarding and Technical Assistance
Onboard students into online courses and programs
Provide technical support to students (logins, access, platform navigation, and troubleshooting)
Identify recurring questions and help improve onboarding materials and FAQs
Zoom and Recordings
Manage Zoom meetings and live sessions, including setup, hosting support, and participant management
Handle recordings: capture, organize, and upload or share them in the right places in a timely way
Website and Content Support
Make basic website updates (text, links, images, and event or program pages)
Provide potential content management and development support, such as organizing resources, formatting materials, and helping prepare content for publication
What We're Looking For
Required
Experience in marketing, operations, or community moderation (or a closely related area)
Advanced proficiency in Zoom and Google Docs
Excellent written communication and a kind, professional tone
Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple small tasks across several platforms
A self-starter mindset: you take initiative, solve problems independently, and know when to ask for input
Comfort learning new tools quickly
Consistent, reliable access to high-speed Internet
Nice to Have
Experience with Mighty Networks or a similar community platform
Experience with online course platforms or student support
Familiarity with basic website editing tools
Personal interest in or familiarity with meditation, mindfulness, or contemplative practice
What Success Looks Like
Community members and students get timely, helpful responses
The Mighty Networks space is current, tidy, and easy to use
New students start their courses smoothly and feel supported
Zoom sessions run without technical hiccups, and recordings are available when promised
The Founder/COO has more time to focus on strategy and teaching because day-to-day operations are handled
