Mindful.Dharma 2026 › Course Module 2: The Philosophy Behind it All: Yogacara

Course Module 2: The Philosophy Behind it All: Yogacara

from $229.00

Without the Buddhist philosophy called Yogacara (literally “Unionist” or “Mind-Only”), it’s not possible to have a thorough understanding of the Buddhist view on topics like human perception, “ego,” or karma. If we want deep and three-dimensional wisdom regarding the mind and its functions, the frameworks offered by this school of thought are crucial.

But it’s not only that--Yogacara includes many contemplations and practices that can unlock our moment by moment experience of self and other, and help us move through the world with much greater clarity of how our mind projects and misinterprets reality. From this, a fountain of compassion for both yourself, others, and the world begins to spring forth.

By studying modern texts on the inner meaning of this philosophical system, we begin to makes sense of teachings and practices we may have touched before in a fresh, robust, and practical way.

  • Week One: What is Yogacara?

  • Week Two: The Eight Consciousnesses

  • Week Three: The Alaya-Vijnana

  • Week Four: The Seventh Consciousness - The Ego, East and West

  • Week Five: The Three Natures and Buddha-Mind

  • Week Six: If It’s All Subjective, How Can We Share A World? A Discussion of Individual and Shared Liberation on The Bodhisattva Path
